Duravit Brand Press What's new 2011 Gold for OpenSpace

Eighty products received a Focus Open in silver and eleven won the gold award for excellent design.

The Viennese design group EOOS designed OpenSpace – a shower partition that can be folded away after use concealing taps, shower head, shower gel and shampoo – as a way of removing clutter from the bathroom, thereby creating a feeling of space but also providing more room to move, a great advantage especially in small bathrooms.

Duravit has been awarded the Focus Open 2011 in gold for this product. The state prize by the Design Center Stuttgart is presented to manufacturers and designers for imaginative, professional and excellent design. It is highly respected in Germany and other countries, in particular because of its non-commercial orientation.

A jury with members from Germany, the USA and China judged 357 products by international manufacturers and professional designers that had been entered for the award. Eighty products received a Focus Open in silver and eleven won the gold award for excellent design.

This sought-after award once again confirms the high design competence for which the Duravit brand is renowned worldwide.
