Water saving WCs
The perfect amount of water to flush

On the product side, Duravit had already reduced the amount of water required for flushing in the 1980s from the normal 9-14 litres to just 6 litres. Today it offers WCs that can flush hygienically using 4.5 litres of water. The dual-flush button also saves precious water.

It's even possible without water
With the McDry urinal, the manufacturer proves that water can be done away with altogether.  Alternatively, the Architec urinal flushes automatically with just 1 litre.

LED technology - Longer product life cycles and lower energy costs

green_sparsame_leds.jpg
Major advantages through LED technology.
Light and colour programs with LEDs cut electricity consumption by two thirds. Illuminant technology of e-mood series is based on LED technology (LED = Light-Emitting Diodes). Using this innovative technology offers 4 major ecological advantages:

1. LEDs allow a lower energy consumption than classical electrical bulbs (less watt-hours)

2. LEDs have a longer product life cycle than other illuminants (sustainability of production and material consumption)

3. LEDs have a much smaller installation height (only 3-4 millimetres) than alternative illuminating technologies (less consumption of construction materials, e.g. wood)

4. Bath furniture concepts with LED illumination consist of semiconductor diodes. The use of such chip technologies allows very beautiful lightening effects/moods. Meanwhile, the chips can dose the action of each LED in an intelligent and energy saving way

Customers profit of longer product life cycles and lower energy costs. In addition, LED technology allows much higher flexibility and freedom in furniture design thanks to its very small installation height. This freedom can even offer ecological and budgetary win-win situations when LEDs help saving construction materials to cover alternative illuminant technology (e. g. wood). Finally, LED technology becomes cheaper and cheaper because of technical progress.

From purchasing to recycling
At Duravit, sustainability also dictates the procurement process, as well as purchasing and the choice of modern materials. All bought-in parts and materials are checked for their environmental impact. We carry out ongoing checks to ascertain whether these can be replaced by products with a lower environmental impact. Sanitary ceramic is made from natural, regenerative substances using environmentally-friendly production techniques. This proves to be particularly sustainable thanks to its durability. Recyclable raw materials and raw materials sourced from controlled, certified production are generally used in our bathroom furniture. The furniture can be dismantled and its constituent raw materials disposed of in the proper manner.
