Duravit continues to grow thanks to its consistent customer and market orientation

With a good company result, the Duravit Group has again benefited from its consistent customer and market orientation. In 2011, turnover was 353.3 million Euros, which is an

increase of about 7.7% compared with the previous year. “For Duravit, the collaboration with high-profile international designers and the high quality requirements within the Duravit Group for both manufacture and products form the basis for successful national and international development”, says Management Board Chairman, Prof. Dr. Frank Richter.

Key sales markets included Central Europe, especially Germany, Italy, Spain, Great Britain and France, as well as Egypt, the USA, the Near East and increasingly some Asian countries. Significant growth was recorded in China in particular. The international share of turnover totalled 78%. Thanks to its 31 affiliated companies and a presence in more than 119 countries, Duravit wants to capitalise upon market opportunities whilst focussing its attention on service. It has recourse to the expertise gained from almost 200 years of tradition and close links with the respective regions.

The feature that makes the new SensoWash® C so special is actually “invisible”: for the first time, the water and power connections are concealed.
In 2011, the Duravit Group further expanded its workforce and now has 5,684 (5,415) employees worldwide. A total of 20% of the workforce were employed in Germany, including 50 trainees and students from 20 different cooperative state universities.

The company regularly checks its range of products and services with respect to profitability and growth. It also systematically collects and integrates customer ideas and wishes. On this basis, Duravit again launched a range of attractive new products last year. Production consistently focuses on ecological standards. For the first time, Duravit has documented its environmental credentials in a sustainability report for 2011.
