Design is an essential part of modern bathrooms. The bathroom is presented as a living area and a space to relax, a private spa within one’s own four walls. Somewhere to unwind in private and recharge one’s batteries. With the resulting high user requirements, the need for information and advice increases, as does the demand for professional training for employees and sales partners. Consequently, Duravit is now also offering hands-on design and technology for the bathroom in Johannesburg.
The presentation is based on experiencing and learning about the brand directly. To this end, for series such as Happy D.2 or DuraStyle, Duravit created a characteristic identity in real room situations that reflect the company's "living bathrooms" motto. The wellness products on display, such as the Inipi sauna created by the EOOS design collective, the Nahho floatation tub and the St.Trop steam shower, are fully functioning.
Duravit is a leading light in the cooperation with high-profile international designers. The products bear, for example, the signature of Philippe Starck, sieger design or Matteo Thun. The focus is on the forward-looking interaction between useful design and technology that is used intelligently. With this aim of combining design, technology and quality, the bathroom has also become more demanding in terms of installation. For this reason, Duravit South Africa places a clear focus on training in order to teach professional expertise.
“The new Training Center gives our customers the opportunity to experience the Duravit brand. At the same time, we enable our trade and commerce partners to broaden their expert knowledge”, said Karen Robyn, General Manager Duravit South Africa. “In individual training sessions, we develop professional expertise and provide assurance when working with Duravit brand products. Quality applies not only to products but increasingly also includes the service for technologically more complex bathrooms."
Duravit AG has had a sales office in South Africa since 2009. In order to further consolidate the company’s market position, Duravit decided to invest in Johannesburg as the location for a training centre. The close proximity to the wholesale and retail trade, to interior design offices and architectural practices, provides an opportunity to further strengthen the brand. In addition to the showroom and training facilities, the Training Center is also home to the new Duravit South Africa office.
