Our sanitary ceramics are made from natural raw materials and only gain their dimensional stability through firing at over 2,200° F. Because of this, subsequent repair is not possible. In the field of sanitary ceramics, hygienic aspects using high temperature firing are important. It is not possible to produce a cold repair compound that permanently guarantees the same properties as the firing of the ceramic glaze.
Sanitary acrylic can be repaired. Repairs that can be made are applicable to surface scratches or small chips. Larger damage issues would need to be evaluated. You can find acrylic repair kits at local plumbing retailers. For further repair inquiries, please email request to info@us.duravit.com

Metal abrasions can be removed with an abrasive cleaning agent for ceramics without WonderGliss coating. The Cerama Bryte product is an example that is suitable for this purpose.
Apply cleaner (e.g., pure citric acid) to the affected area and allow to sit for some time. Simply wet the affected areas with cleaning liquid (possibly soak a cloth in the liquid) and leave to soak in for a few hours. Afterwards, the dirt can often be removed very easily. As an alternative to citric acid you may use vinegar, vinegar essence or vinegar cleaner. Foaming cleaners have the advantage that they stick to smooth and vertical surfaces longer than liquid cleaners. Foam can also be sprayed directly under the rim of the toilet. Limescale, bacteria and germs can be reliably removed.
Duravit bathroom furniture is suitable for the bathroom and is not sensitive to normal moisture. Standing water should be wiped clean off. We recommend wiping the furniture with a dry cloth after an intensive shower or bath and ventilating the bathroom by turning on the bathroom fan.
The material of the toilet seat is a high-quality plastic with a hygienically sealed surface. For this reason, cleaning with water and mild soap is sufficient. This surface is not only destroyed by the direct use of an aggressive cleaner, but also by vapors when a cleaner acts in the toilet bowl while the toilet seat is closed. The use of scented stones on the flushing rim or tabs from toilet tanks can also destroy the surface of the toilet seat. The hygienically closed protective layer is damaged by the action of vapors and the microscopic pores in the surface open. Due to the capillary effect, urine-water mixture can penetrate the surface and the toilet seat becomes discolored. If a toilet cleaner is used to clean the toilet, make sure that the toilet seat set (seat ring and lid) remain folded open and are only closed again when the cleaning agent has been completely flushed out of the toilet bowl so that the vapors of the cleaner cannot attack the surface of the toilet seat and the hinges.
As a rule, acrylic is easy to keep clean with a soft cloth and a little water. Please avoid abrasive cleaners at all costs. Stronger stains can also be removed with Denatured Alcohol. Please rinse out with warm water.
It is best to clean your WonderGliss-coated ceramic surface daily with a damp cloth. Make sure that the cloth is always clean. Microfiber cloths are not recommended. Should the use of a cleaner become necessary, we recommend the use of a mild agent such as a commercially available vinegar cleaner (see recommendations in the care instructions). Acidic cleaners (based on acetic or citric acid) are particularly suitable for removing any limescale deposits. To clean your toilet, you can use a toilet brush as usual. If, contrary to expectations, stubborn dirt has formed on the surface, simply leave your bathroom cleaner to work overnight. Foam cleaners are particularly suitable for this purpose, as they adhere well to sloping surfaces.
