Duravit USA Debuts Four New Additions to Viu/XViu Collection with sieger design
Duravit USA is pleased to announce the launch of new additions to its Viu/XViu collection by sieger design. The four new Viu washbasins and complementing XViu furniture sizes offer greater options to create a bathroom that suits the user’s needs and individual style. The Viu/XViu collection is characterized by its striking geometric precision and avant-garde forms; these new designs continue the design language of the series and expand upon a decades-long, storied partnership with sieger design.
“The Duravit partnership with sieger design has such a rich history - one that allows us to continually push the boundaries of conventional design and manufacturing solutions,” says Duravit North American President, Tim Schroeder. “The four new washbasins and furniture combinations carry on the collection’s soft organic shapes and precise geometry and offer a new level of detail previously unattainable in the bath,” he adds.
Thanks to the use of Duravit’s patented c-bonded technology, the new Viu washbasin seamlessly merges with the XViu console or furniture frame of the XViu vanities so that they meld into one. “These technical possibilities will lead to a paradigm shift in bathroom design,” says Michael Sieger. “They correspond to wider trends in architecture towards industrial prefabrication, which allows an unprecedented level of precision,” he concludes. Despite the complexity and contrasts of form, the vanities and consoles combine to form an elegant, harmonious whole.
The new washbasin and complimentary furniture formats are available in a 17 ¾ wall-mounted vanity unit as well as 23 ⅝, 39 ⅜”, 47 ¼” wall-mounted vanity unit with one or two pull out drawers, floorstanding vanity units with two drawers or with the XViu floorstanding metal console. The collection offers a holistic yet individualistic approach to the washing area. Characterized by the marriage of soft organic shapes and defined geometric lines, the post-industrial elegance of the Viu/XViu series is visible across these new sizes.
